Biography: Ana C. Belzarena is an oncology orthopedist and a pediatric orthopedist as well, researcher, an expert in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant bone tumors and other musculoskeletal cancers. Dr. Belzarena earned a Medicine Doctor degree from the College of Medicine at the University of the Republic in Uruguay. She completed her training in orthopedic surgery at the Santa Casa of Sao Paulo Hospital in Brazil. Following Dr, Belzarena pursued two subspecialties; in musculoskeletal oncology and pediatric orthopedics. She trained at the acclaimed Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and at the also eminent Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida. Additionally, she continued to train in pediatric orthopedics at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Specific research areas of interest include bone and soft tissue sarcomas, improving prognosis tools for patients with bone tumors (osteosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma) and metastatic disease.
